In Mexico City, specifically on Calzada La Viga, Esperanza neighborhood, an emergency incident was recorded that alarmed the residents of the area. The explosion, caused by a gas accumulation in one of the apartments in the building, led to the evacuation of more than 150 people. Three individuals were injured, of which two required transfer to a hospital for treatment.

The report from the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection indicates that the deflagration occurred at the intersection of Calzada de la Viga and Callejón San Antonio Abad. Immediately after receiving reports of the incident, emergency protocols were activated, and response teams were dispatched to the scene.

The Heroic Fire Department also confirmed that the explosion was a flash fire due to the gas accumulation in the affected apartment. The situation is still being monitored to ensure the safety of the community. The head of the Secretariat of Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection of Mexico City, Margarita Venegas Urzúa, was present at the site to supervise the response and emergency efforts.

Although initially it was mentioned that the evacuation involved up to 200 people, authorities clarified that ultimately 150 were evacuated from the affected building. Images and videos documenting the moment after the explosion were shared on social media, generating concern among the residents of the Esperanza neighborhood. Authorities continue to investigate the exact causes of the gas accumulation that triggered the explosion, with the aim of preventing similar situations in the future.
